Not fully torn ligaments on both sides but close. Found the only rock on my morning run yesterday while making sure bicyclist wasn’t going to run into me. Had to snap ankle back in place.
Look ahead and believe. Which is better than looking back. Can’t change the past but you can start new today. Those MP tempo miles today where brutal in the heat+humidity but I survived and only feel like some on my insides want to shrivel up, not all tho time to go be a salesperson/designer/coder/IT/handylady. The life of an entrepreneur.
Sunday funday runday. 7 humid drenched miles this morning. Hello summer. It’s definitely arrived.
Two weeks ago I completed my 2nd marathon. It was truly 26.2 miles of pure hell. I had trained and it had gone well. The weather was even looking perfect. I had discovered that my optimum race temp is low 50s. However, the temps had spiked the few days prior and my goal time finishing was not looking good. I remained optimistic but I had a plan b and plan c in place. The only time when I plan it seems.
As I enter into my second experience of tapering, I am putting what I learned to make it easier. The last time, it being my first experience, what not pleasurable by any means. I was even more ravenous than I had been the 3 months of training. I was irritable and just bitchy.
I was excited to learn about the marriage between Pebble and Runkeeper as my running goal for 2014 was to increase my speed. I had been thinking about a Garmin watch but one more thing to sync was just not what I had in mind.
How training for the Chicago Marathon saved my life and changed it forever. I never knew I was on a journey until I was halfway through. Many plot twists for sure but as I get ready to leave for Chicago, I am not the person I was 4 months ago.
