A race on a 2 year race anniversary

Two years ago I ran my first half marathon. Disney’s wine and dine. I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t know anyone, Tho I met 2 amazing women who were just the nicest people ever. Had no idea I would fall in love with the sport as much as I have but I did. I’ve met some of the most amazing and inspirational people and made some best friends. 16 halfs and 2 fulls later I am still going strong. Each race I learn something new. Wether it’s about myself or what to do or not to do. As I completed my 16th half on Sunday, it seemed fitting to be wearing the wine and dine tee as I was freezing from a cold wet race. Some races are more of a struggle than others but unless I am dead I will make every effort to cross that finish. It shows me that no matter how much it hurts you can survive and push through. It’s been a roller coaster of a few years but here I am still standing. Sometimes with the help of friends. The journey isn’t ever meant to be easy. If it was easy. Everyone could do it. I’ve earned my medals. Keep on truckin my friends

Inspiration is everywhere.

Inspiration is everywhere. Beautiful sunrise this morning. Probably one of my fav photos of Teddy. He is so photogenic. Beautiful shell too. Run cut short today due to a strange ankle pain. Better safe than sorry. First pain in a month. Probably from the heavy fin action yesterday battling rough waves. 6 planned for Saturday. Happy humps day

Follow your heart.

Follow your heart. I intend to run however. All day and all night. I don’t ever want to stop. Running is my addiction. My drug. What keeps me strong. It keeps me from cracking. It’s great to have Teddy to keep me company. Had an awesome hard 3 miles this morning. Starting over sucks but it’s better than not being able to @altrarunning

Teddy and I are back!

Teddy and I are back! Even at a sloooooow pace and only 1 mile. I was super nervous and wasn’t entirely sure how I would feel but there was no pain only fatigue and even hours later still no pain. I need to continue to work on fixing mobility and flexibility. That will be key. 6 weeks out and it never felt so great to sweat and lace up
