good morning sunrise
Two years ago I ran my first half marathon. Disney’s wine and dine. I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t know anyone, Tho I met 2 amazing women who were just the nicest people ever. Had no idea I would fall in love with the sport as much as I have but I did. I’ve met some of the most amazing and inspirational people and made some best friends. 16 halfs and 2 fulls later I am still going strong. Each race I learn something new. Wether it’s about myself or what to do or not to do. As I completed my 16th half on Sunday, it seemed fitting to be wearing the wine and dine tee as I was freezing from a cold wet race. Some races are more of a struggle than others but unless I am dead I will make every effort to cross that finish. It shows me that no matter how much it hurts you can survive and push through. It’s been a roller coaster of a few years but here I am still standing. Sometimes with the help of friends. The journey isn’t ever meant to be easy. If it was easy. Everyone could do it. I’ve earned my medals. Keep on truckin my friends
Another day. Another half completed. You really never know how it’ll go until you cross that start and finish. May not be the race I wanted but I still crossed that finish. There is always another race waiting for me
Rise and shine! Happy Monday. It’s a beautiful day. My first visit to the sunrise since the injury. Couldn’t have picked a more perfect day back. Off to the gym. Make it a great day and week.
Another amazing swim in the salt. Today was crazy sharkie out, they were active too. Played freeze tag and hide-n-seek with a few nurse sharks. Lots of fun. Nothing beats quality time with my pals
Two weeks ago I completed my 2nd marathon. It was truly 26.2 miles of pure hell. I had trained and it had gone well. The weather was even looking perfect. I had discovered that my optimum race temp is low 50s. However, the temps had spiked the few days prior and my goal time finishing was not looking good. I remained optimistic but I had a plan b and plan c in place. The only time when I plan it seems.
Today, I got my 5th leased car. That’s right. FIVE. The reason why I started getting a lease when i was 21 years old was because I was told I could use it as a tax write off. Plus, after a few years when I got bored I could get a new one.
Today was an exciting day for me. I thought that I would have to scrap the idea of going snorkeling since the weather was looking iffy as I headed North to Jupiter. I decided that I didn’t want to waste an hour driving and I would just check out Boca Raton since I keep hearing all about it. So slight detour, exit stage right. As I get to the beach, there is really no one around but I see the few people there staring at something in the water. I ask the life guard what all the fuss is about and he says there is a manatee just hanging out. Well, I’ve gotten ready pretty quickly but this was probably record timing.
Thats how this day went. Five of us where chosen to participate and bring a guest to parade around in the Truly Nolen mousecars. 10 of us total. Each person had their own Truly Nolen drivers. My driver was Ray. Full of information about all the services that Truly Nolen offers. Being a home owner, I had loads of questions.
The day started off by the girls, Carolyn, Tracy and Christina meeting at my house. The drive there, was an adventure in itself. Getting to the Truly Nolen Hallendale location we saw all of the cars lined up and waiting for us.
This weekend was finally great weather to snorkel. It has been very windy and choppy the last few weekends. I made sure to take full advantage.
The ocean was as flat as glass. I hit the ocean saturday morning at 9 am. It is breakfast time for the fishies. I sure didn’t want to miss a beat. I clearly wasn’t the only one with the brilliant idea of hitting the water. Diving flags were everywhere.
I couldn’t help but feel excitement at seeing my nurse sharks again. I’ve been feeling like a fish out of water lately. I knew that if I asked to see my sharks that I’d get it.
