Our typical board meetings on a beautiful winter morning
Nothing like catching the sunset as you are catching some waves. Beautiful sets too. West winds. Yep. This is my kinda winter. Nautical sunrise surf session tomorrow. Can’t wait
Mich Ultra Ft Lauderdale Half #16. It was hot n humid then it was cloudy then it rained. I didn’t do what I wanted but my runbud Joe did amazing for his first race. We’re soggy cold and happy. Earning that beer for sure. Body just didn’t cooperate
Nothing completes laps in the like swimming with a sea turtle AND a spotted eagle ray
Another amazing swim in the salt. Today was crazy sharkie out, they were active too. Played freeze tag and hide-n-seek with a few nurse sharks. Lots of fun. Nothing beats quality time with my pals
Everyday just keep swimming. Entering week 6 of no running. There were some dark days but there is now progress. I could walk down stairs like most yesterday. HUGE. Today I walked in the sand without pain OR a limp. I even swam down to the bottom kicking. Progress makes me feel hopeful. Now to lace up and get back on the road. I’m thankful for the amazing friends and support I have had. We all need help. It’s hard to ask for it but it’s even harder to admit it
This weekend was finally great weather to snorkel. It has been very windy and choppy the last few weekends. I made sure to take full advantage.
The ocean was as flat as glass. I hit the ocean saturday morning at 9 am. It is breakfast time for the fishies. I sure didn’t want to miss a beat. I clearly wasn’t the only one with the brilliant idea of hitting the water. Diving flags were everywhere.
I couldn’t help but feel excitement at seeing my nurse sharks again. I’ve been feeling like a fish out of water lately. I knew that if I asked to see my sharks that I’d get it.
YAWN..I am so not a morning person but for a free surf lesson I can be. Ha. No really. I am! The fine people at island water sports are nice enough to put them on every saturday morning starting at 7am.
I got there right at 7. I was expecting 5…10 tops but there was atleast 50.
After signing in and giving my emergency contact we were all assigned teams. I was teamed up with 2 teenage girls. We grabbed our 9′ padded board and headed to the beach.
